hey peterspud1i seen black thought a few months ago driving around philly and he does wear bling(but doesnt rock it in a braggadocios way) and dives a 07 escalade wit 22s on it...not saying in anyway the makes him discredited as an emcee(look at slick rick).

Hey BIGPETEPOKER,The phycology behind releasing artists like T.I or Soulja Boy or whoevers on MTV, is that you make the most money that way... Buy the album, then buy some Soulja Boy glasses, then a book so you can dance right, then buy up our clothing line... Rap is all commercialWith a group like The Roots, it's just straight hip-hop, they aren't promoting anything, notice none of them own "bling"Its part of true hip hop

Too true about hip hop being a powerful tool, shame some of the people in the game couldn't use their influence a lil better.

Notice how most songs on the radio are idiotic and brain dead anthems or dances. Think about it, hip hop is a powerful tool that can influence how you think and feel. The Golden Era of Hip Hop encouraged listeners to question authority and the state of the world. So it was followed by an assertive effort to dumb it down. Bill Clinton signed the 1996 Telecommunications Act which allowed the big boys to buy up all the stations. Hence you have the same mind numbing programming nation wide.

The cream always rises to the top. Pure Hip Hop invokes the spirit and higher concious. It makes you feel good, makes you think, and tugs on all the emotions. Its a powerful tool.
